Born in Paris in 1913, Delyle initially pursued a career in pharmacy before being discovered as a singer. Her major breakthrough came with the 1942 hit “Mon amant de Saint-Jean” (My Lover From Saint-Jean) which led her to become the most popular French singer of the 1950s. Her career was cut short by leukemia, and she died in Monte Carlo in 1962.
