At age 18, Colin opened his first studio in Nancy, and with two of his comrades, Jean Larcat and Paul Klinger, he founded a satiric review, La Vache Enragée, for which he created his first poster. It apparently lasted only one edition. Colin was subsequently enlisted in France’s World War I effort.
