“Sometimes, Cappiello made his emphatic overstatements in terms of quantity rather than size. In design after design, he piled up flowers, fruits, packages of products or individual items in bountiful profusion to create a visually exciting presentation ... Typical of this approach is the poster for Confitures Foucault: We see three women emptying huge baskets of fruit into a vat in which, presumably, the jams and marmalades will be prepared. Excessive, maybe; eye-catching, definitely” (Cappiello/Rennert, p. 194). This is one of the largest and most finished maquettes by Cappiello we’ve ever seen.
