The lascivious hijinks one expects from Grün aren’t present in this woodblock-inspired black-on-sepia paper invitation for the Décadents cabaret. Of course, the Montmartre night is still young. But what is abundantly manifested is that anyone who was anyone from every walk of life was making a beeline for the decadently diversionary evening. “The Décadents café-concert was located at 16 bis rue Fontaine. Marguerite Duclerc, after having gained tremendous success at Ambassadeurs, took over direction [of the venue] in 1896. The establishment from that point on was called Concerts Duclerc” (Spectacle, p. 248).
