Union Pacific / Bryce Canyon
Union Pacific / Bryce Canyon

To encourage Americans to spend their summer vacations visiting the national parks of the great Southwest by rail, Union Pacific created a “circle trip” that included stops at the Grand Canyon, Zion, and Bryce Canyon for a single price. This fine landscape creation was one of the posters used to promote that route. In this view of Bryce Canyon, stone arches and striking formations in sandy yellow and flaming burnt sienna contrast sharply with the turquoise sky and deep green vegetation, the grandeur of it utterly dwarfing the horseback riders passing through at the base of the canyon.
