“In 1900 Berthon produced a poster for the Salon des Arts Libéraux, a striking design of two women by a lithographic printing press. Like all Berthon’s posters, it was designed as a decorative lithograph in which the text played no real part, but was confined to reserves outside the subject. Each of the posters was, in addition, printed in editions without letters for collectors” (Berthon & Grasset, p. 103).
