Originally executed in 1947, this maquette was probably redrawn by the artist circa 1980. It's a charming design: spectator dandies are distracted from the race by a racier pair of legs in this design for the ladies' hosiery firm of Marie-Claire. Only the typography changed in the billboard printed in 1947.
Signed and dated to upper left ‘P. Fix-Masseau 47’.
