The well-named Kunst (meaning "art" in German) was a Munich artist, and very much of the Munich school led by Hohlwein. The hallmarks of his work are virtuoso draftsmanship, a certain jaunty humor, and a photographic realism achieved with a few ungraded colors. The style is epitomized in this poster for a Berlin sporting goods store, featuring a skier fastening up amid snow-loaded conifers. Though light blue dominates, it's the pink blush of early sun that lends special appeal.
