Despite rumors to the contrary, chivalry is alive and well, even in the mechanical age. Whether the gallant gentleman was moved to kiss the hand of the female motorist out of admiration for her charms or for her magnificent taste in automobiles is left for us to decide; her male driving companion seems to approve of whichever scenario holds true. In fact, nearly every passerby seems to have their approving gaze turned to the lady and her vehicle, a Phébus—a Parisian make which survived from 1899 to 1903.
